How do I set up Meta to run partnership ads through Noovid?
What to do when Noovid says your Meta accounts need one more step: share your Facebook Page and Instagram account with the ad account's business portfolio.
To boost a creator's post as a partnership ad, the ad account connected to Noovid must be able to advertise from your Facebook Page and Instagram account. If Noovid shows "Your Meta accounts need one more step", the ad account sits in a different business portfolio from the one that owns your Page and Instagram.
This is common when a brand keeps one portfolio for its social accounts and another for ads (for example, one set up by an agency). Meta won't let a portfolio advertise with assets that belong to another until they're shared, and creating the ad fails with generic errors. Noovid checks this before creating any campaign, so nothing is created or charged until the setup is right.
Before you start
- You need to be an admin of both portfolios. If one belongs to your agency, send this article to whoever manages it.
- Your Instagram account must be a professional account (creator or business) linked to the Facebook Page.
- Every step happens in Meta Business Settings. Use the switcher in the top-left corner to move between portfolios.
1. Copy the ad account's portfolio ID
- In Business Settings, select the portfolio that owns the ad account connected to Noovid.
- Open Business info and copy the Business portfolio ID.
Not sure which portfolio owns the ad account? Under Accounts → Ad accounts, the account is listed as owned in the portfolio it belongs to.
2. Share the Page and Instagram account with that portfolio
- Switch to the portfolio that owns your Facebook Page and Instagram account.
- Open Users → Partners and click Add → Give a partner access to your assets.
- Paste the ID you copied in step 1.
- Select the Facebook Page, turn on the ads permission (or full control) and save.
- Repeat for the Instagram account, again with the ads permission.
3. Assign the assets to the ad account
- Switch back to the portfolio that owns the ad account.
- Under Accounts → Pages, select the shared Page, open Connected assets and click Add assets.
- Choose the ad account connected to Noovid and confirm.
- Do the same under Accounts → Instagram accounts for the Instagram account.
4. Check again on Noovid
Go back to Noovid and click "I've completed the setup, check again" in the boost window, or "Check again" under Settings → Integrations → Meta. Once the check passes, you can boost the ad as usual.
Changes on Meta can take a few minutes to apply. If the notice is still there, wait a moment and check again.
Another option: use an ad account from the same portfolio
If the portfolio that owns your Page and Instagram also has an ad account, you can connect that one to Noovid under Settings → Integrations → Meta instead. Then nothing needs to be shared between portfolios.
Still stuck? Message us in the chat with the name of the ad account and the Page you're using.
